Hello and Welcome!

Hello! My name is Lesley and I am an artist and art therapist with a love for hiking. My aim is to bring all my passions together through this website with pages dedicated to each of the elements as well as areas where themes overlap.

I love hiking and being outdoors and appreciate not only the physical challenge but the social an emotional impact going on an adventure has. I love walking in the UK in mountainous areas like Snowdonia and the lake district as well as exploring the Yorkshire dales and where my feet and camera take me. As a trainee ML (Mountain Leader) who is steadily working towards assessment I continue to learn about navigation, route planning and leadership working with groups. It feels important for my personal development and I am enjoying the journey.

Art has always been an interest of mine and I remember as a child always wanting to make something or do something. I have strong memories of winning a competition when I was five or six after making a collage of a train as well as another clear memory of an image of an owl that I created when I was about 11. This interest took me to study at college and uni and go on to become an art teacher where I taught secondary art for 11 years before having a change of career to be coming art therapist.

As an art therapist and artist I truly believe in the therapeutic benefits of arts and creativity in improving emotional and physical well-being. I have experience working in a variety of settings with different age groups including children and adolescents and their families and adults.

Take a look at the different parts of my website that suit your interest and if you have any questions please get in touch.
